1. Ankle Sprain
This is the most common soccer injury. It mostly happens when there is a stretching or breaking of ligaments in the ankle joint. You can get it anytime while running and mostly when you put too much pressure on your feet.
If there is only an ankle sprain or stretching, you just have to rest from 1-4 weeks, but if there is ligament breaking, you may need an operation.
2. Anterior Cruciate Ligament Sprain
This is primarily a knee injury. Anterior Cruciate Ligament is a ligament that is placed on the front of the knee and functions the movement of our knee.
The ACL can break while changing direction or while kicking a soccer ball. First, it feels like a pop in the knee, but gradually it starts swelling, and then you can’t carry the bodyweight or run.
Treatment for this is giving rest to your leg and allows your knee to restore in place. Usually, it takes a lot of time to cure, which is like 6-12 weeks or more than that.
3. Medial Collateral Ligament Sprain
The medial collateral ligament is also placed in the knee, but it is inside the knee. It can be in non-contact or also in contact. It mostly happens when two players collide with one another. It also includes swelling, pain, tenderness, or bruises.
Like another knee injury, you need to take a rest and stop moving your legs continuously. Unfortunately, it also takes more than a month to recover.
4. Shin Splints
If you put too much stress on the tibia, which is also known as shinbone, it causes shin splints. It happens due to repetitive running or jumping on a hard surface.
It can cause pain in the tibia, and you won’t be able to touch that part. Also, it goes dull below the middle part of the bone.
According to the doctor, shin splints can be cured by conservative treatments like resting, putting ice, or anti-inflammatory medicine. However, it’s like a stress fracture, so you have to be in contact with your doctor.
5. Hamstring Pull
The hamstring is a muscle located on the thigh. When the muscle strains in the thigh are called hamstring pull, it is one of the most common injuries for soccer players. It is a non-contact injury.
Hamstring pull is a muscle pull in the thigh that happens while sprinting or when you give less rest to your leg. It requires 2-6 weeks of rest to recover. But it’s better to rest some more time after recovery because there is a risk of pull again after returning to play in the first few weeks.
A concussion is a very major injury in soccer. It’s a kind of head injury. It causes severe symptoms like headaches, lack of concentration, lack of coordination, vomiting, nausea, dizziness, ringing in the ear, or fatigue.
To find out the severity, you need to do a CT scan or an MRI. With this, your doctor can find out if there is any damage to your brain or not.

Fracture is one of the most common injuries in any sport. If you are a sports person, then you must have faced it sometime.
Bumping into other players, hitting the ground hard, or kicking the soccer ball can hardly cause a fracture in the ankle, arm, or wrist. In easy words, it’s a broken bone, so the severity depends on the location of the injury.
It causes very sharp and unbearable pain, swelling, bruising. If it occurs in the leg, then you won’t be able to stand. Your leg won’t be able to take body weight, and if it’s serious, then you may get unable to bead weight for a lifetime.
If a fracture happens, you have to see a doctor immediately and do an x-ray to find the severity of your wound. Fractures can keep you outside of the ground for several weeks, and once your doctor confirms that your leg is ready to bear all those pressures, then you can go back to your ground.

Prevention is the second P. You have to make sure that the people you are playing with and the place are safe for you. Prevention mainly ensures that the ground is well prepared, in good condition, and everyone follows the rules correctly.
Protection in the third P. But it is ignored mainly. Players often play without any protection like proper shoes or perfect gloves for a goalkeeper.
